Run From The Cure is a documentary Film By Christian Laurette – After a serious head injury in 1997, Rick Simpson sought relief from his medical condition through the use of medicinal hemp oil. Positive reception of Run from the Cure

Run from the cure is a must see. After watching the movie I went to search for information, and the film is correct. It’s disgusting to outlaw a medicinal plant that has been proven to reduce tumors and prevent spreading of cancer. Instead they give patients chemical poison or radiation that kills mostly healthy cells.

 

Being told you can’t consume a substance, it’s banned and it’s illegal, is not freedom. You should have the freedom to choose your medicines and treatments in a free society. When they give you a piss test they’re looking for marijuana which can’t possibly kill you and may be beneficial to your health. Meanwhile they could care less about any deadly chemicals that are in your body. We work hard, always trying to get money and for what, so we can have crappy overpriced health care?

Negative & Critical Reviews of Run from the Cure

Rick Simpson may be a brilliant man and I don’t think we should hold it against him that he has no medical background or that his education stopped in the 9th grade. But, like many brilliant men, Simpson did not try to back up his personal experience with scientific evidence. He did what most of do most of the time: he set out to confirm what he believed. His reasoning followed his natural instincts. It is unnatural to do what scientists do: try to disprove or falsify beliefs.To him, his belief that cannabis cures cancer was a matter of common sense. It would have seemed weird to him to act as if his belief that cannabis cures cancer were a hypothesis to be tested. What would we expect him to do, give fake hemp oil to some of his friends to see if there was some sort of placebo effect going on? Scientists and experts in cognitive biases know that confirmation bias added to wishful thinking is a recipe for self-deception. Rick Simpson is not a scientist. “I never had a drug charge in my life until the RCMP staged the raid on my property in 2005. Of course in reality this raid was staged simply to prevent me from supplying the medicine and spreading the truth about the medicinal value of the hemp plant. The legal system tried to paint me as some type of drug dealer, but how many drug dealers do you know that openly grew cannabis and produced the essential oil from the plant and then gave this oil away free of charge to those in need? On my fifty eighth birthday November 30th 2007 I was put in jail for four days supposedly for trafficking an illegal substance. I had supplied 5 grams of oil again free of charge to a woman in her early twenties who was suffering from a back condition that had put her off work. Her mother who it seems considered herself to be an upstanding citizen, reported it to the local police and I was arrested. When the case was heard in court in early 2008 I was sentenced to time served. In other words the legal system considered the four days I had already served as just punishment for the terrible crime I had committed by helping this woman and giving her the medicine free.”
