SuperCritical CO2 Extraction

The optimal extraction method is using supercritical CO2. This takes place under very low temperatures and creates a pure extract that preserves the beneficial cannabinoids like CBD and CBDa. This kind of Hemp CBD oil is often the most expensive.

Solvent Extraction

A cheaper extraction method uses isopropyl alcohol to remove the cannabinoids from the plant material, the solvent is then evaporated leaving behind the hemp oil extract. This kind of oil needs to be made very carefully. A lot of hemp oil for sale still contains some of the harmful solvents that have not been fully evaporated.

Good quality medicinal hemp oil should always be lab tested, since you are ingesting it and you need to know exactly what percentage of CBD and that it’s free from any impurities like pesticides of heavy metals.

Avoid Hemp Oil from China or Eastern Europe.

Some unethical companies offer very cheap hemp oil that originates from China or Eastern Europe and is a by product of the hemp fibre industry.

Buying hemp oil from these kind of sources means your health may be at serious risk. These hemp products have not been properly tested and often contain dangerous contaminants since they were never meant for human consumption.

What is the difference between Hemp Oil and Hemp CBD Oil?

These terms are often used interchangeably which creates confusion in the marketplace. The reason is often related to marketing and also legal reasons to distinguish hemp oil from cannabis oil. Technically they are actually the same thing, since hemp is a variety of the cannabis plant.

Normal cold pressed hemp oil should not be confused with hemp CBD oil as it’s made entirely differently and from different parts of the plant. Cold pressed hemp oil is made from the seeds and contains only trace amounts of cannabinoids. Hemp CBD oil is extracted from the seeds, stem &  flowers and contains high amounts of cannabinoids

Hemp Oil Admixtures : Hemp Oil For Sale Cheaper But Be WARNED

As the hype increases around the benefits of CBD Oil, more and more manufacturers see it as a way to charge more for their normal cold pressed hemp oil products by adding tiny amounts of CBD Oil and then passing it off as something it isn’t.

If you are buying large bottles of hemp cbd oil over 250ml then it’s probably an admixture. You need to know the amount of CBD in milligrams to be able to compare it to any other products.

Some manufacturers add a percentage number which ends up being meaningless if you don’t know the milligrams. Adding a few drops of 20% CBD Oil to a 1 litre bottle of Hemp oil and then labelling it as containing 20% CBD Oil is very misleading.

Another misleading way to advertise is to say “Approx. 10 mg hemp extract per 1 mL serving” this does not tell you the strength of the hemp extract that is added to the product or the actual amount of CBD it contains.

Does hemp oil make you high?

Hemp oil does not get you high as long as it doesn’t contain any THC.

Cold pressed oils will only have tiny trace amounts of THC and other cannabinoids. Medicinal hemp oil will normally contain CBD (Cannabidiol) and may or may not contain THC. Most industrial hemp grown, is by definition hemp that has less than 0.3% THC but that doesn’t mean after the production and processing the THC levels are still the same.

Hemp CBD Oil varies from batch to batch which is why it’s so important to have a lab testing certificate of analysis so you know what you are purchasing.

Organic Hemp Oil vs Non Organic Hemp Oil

If you want to buy hemp oil we always advise that it is is grown from organically certified hemp plants. Hemp is famous for its soil cleaning ability as it extract nutrients from the soil and stores them in the plant fibres. If it’s grown in non organic soil it may absorb residues of harmful chemicals, heavy metals, mycotoxins and fungi.  These can be dangerous to your health making it wise to avoid non organic hemp cbd oil even if it’s much cheaper.
